Why have Dermaplaning done?
Dermaplaning removes the build-up of oils on the skin and helps your skincare products penetrate the skin more readily and improves their results.
Dermaplaning removes excess fine hairs which are known for trapping the dirt, oil and dead skin cells in your pores that are the main cause of acne and blemishes.
It is also a great way to prepare the skin for other treatments like peels and facials.
What is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is a popular exfoliation method that requires the use of a sterile medical grade blade to gently remove the top layer of the skin, the dead skin layer and fine vellus hair, aka ‘peach fuzz’.
Vellus hair—endearingly known as peach fuzz—is the short, fine, lightly pigmented hair that can appear on the face, neck, and other areas of the body. This is different to the darker hair we like to remove on other parts of the body. While it's often barely noticeable, many people still want to rid themselves of it.
What are the Results of Dermaplaning?
Exfoliation by dermaplaning makes your skin feel great. After this procedure, your skin care products will work much better as they are able to absorb directly into the skin without having to work their way through layers of dead skin.
The procedure claims to clear away up to three weeks' worth of dead skin cells. After three weeks to a month, your results will have faded, but you can make a dermaplaning session part of your routine, to keep the skin feeling and looking bright.
After a dermaplaning treatment, you'll need to be extra careful about sun exposure so we recommend using a sun screen of SPF30 or more.
